Public Comment: Concerns Regarding the Proposed 2026 Operational Test in Support of the 2030 Census

AAI submitted the below comment regarding deep concerns about the proposed 2026 Operational Test in Support of the 2030 Census (FR Doc. USBC-2026-0034). Rigorous testing of census operations is essential to ensuring that the decennial census accurately counts all people residing in the United States. As currently proposed, however, the 2026 operational test would function as a census test in name only. Its limited scope and several methodological flaws would produce little to no useful information for improving decennial census operations.
